Your first hour on Bakeable
The four things to set up before you can take an order, and the order to do them in.
There is no long setup wizard. You land on your dashboard the moment you sign up, and a launch progress strip across the top shows the four things standing between you and your first order. You can do them in any order, but the sequence below is the one with the least backtracking.
The four steps
- Business profile — your bakery name, contact details and time zone. Time zone matters more than it looks: every order cut-off is calculated in your local time, not the customer’s.
- Products — add at least three. You can add more later, but three is roughly what a menu needs to look like a menu.
- Pickup schedule — the day of the week you bake for, where customers collect, and the hours you are there.
- Payments — connect Stripe or Square so customers can actually pay you.
The same four steps appear again as tasks in your task list. That is a second view of the same information, not a second checklist — ticking one ticks the other.
Then your website
Once those four are done, the dashboard offers to generate your website. That is a separate two-step conversation about your brand and your story, and it produces a real storefront with your menu and ordering already wired in. It works from your products, pickups and profile alone, so you can skip both steps and still get a site.
Your site starts private. Nobody can see it until you publish, and you can preview it privately as many times as you like before then.
What it costs to start
Nano is free forever — no card, no trial clock. Bakeable takes 5% of each sale, added to the customer's total at checkout rather than taken out of your margin. Micro is $29 a month with a lower fee and adds subscriptions and marketing automations. You can start on Nano and move up whenever the numbers say so.
